Law Practice

Anna-Marie is one of two partner/owner lawyers with Mabbott & Company and practices primarily in the areas of Real Estate and Wills and Estate Planning.   She has extensive experience in residential, rural and commercial real estate matters, wills and estate planning, and administration of deceased estates.

Background

Anna-Marie was born and raised in South Africa.  Before emigrating to Canada in 2000, she practiced law in a general practice in partnership with her husband in Barberton Mpumalanga, for 17 years.  In Calgary she worked at the office of the Public Trustee as a trust officer for 6 years, dealing with deceased estates, dependant adult matters, and the estates of minors.  She served one year of articles with a Calgary firm before joining Mabbott & Company as an associate lawyer in 2007.

Anna-Marie has always been very involved in community activities.  She served as an elected municipal councillor in Barberton for 8 years, and has volunteered as a committee member for many organizations including a local law society and a charity children’s trust.  She is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Cochrane and continues to volunteer in her community.  When she is not at work she spends time relaxing with her husband and four children, and tries to find time to indulge in activities such as camping, biking, reading and music.
